Funds for Whatcom County grants support efforts emphasizing a shared vision that everyone who lives here thrives, and that align with our mission to cultivate neighborliness, lift community voices, and invest in equity and hope. Grant amounts typically range from $1,000-$20,000. Timing, eligibility, and criteria may vary based on funding availability, fund type, and Foundation and community priorities.

This Application
Nonprofit organizations focused on Environment or Arts and Culture

• Operating grants up to $20,000.
• Application open until March 7th at 4:00 PM. Decisions made by April.
• Eligible: Registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations with core mission focused in Whatcom County on either Environment or Arts and Culture with at least one full-time paid staff person.
• Ineligible: 
  • Government, schools, higher education, religious institutions, scholarships, events, and stand-alone projects
  • Organizations that discriminate in policy or practice, based on gender, religion, sexual orientation or identity, ethnicity, national origin or physical ability
