Resilience Fund Activated to Address Whatcom County Flooding Impacts

The Whatcom Community Foundation has activated the Resilience Fund to support neighbors affected by the ongoing flooding across our region.

In moments like this, Whatcom County’s greatest strength has always been its people. During the 2021 floods, neighbors opened their homes, shared food, checked on elders, and stepped in long before outside assistance arrived. That same spirit of neighborliness is already showing up again, and your support can help carry it even further.

Thanks to generous neighbors who have already stepped up, your gift will be matched, doubling your impact for families and communities facing the greatest need.

While many response systems are stronger than they were in 2021, water levels in several areas have already surpassed record heights. Local funding remains the fastest, most flexible way to help. Early, unrestricted dollars make it possible to stabilize families while government relief and longer-term recovery efforts get organized.

Gifts to the Resilience Fund go directly to trusted, on-the-ground partners — neighborhood organizations, faith communities, and volunteer networks — who are meeting urgent needs in the hardest-hit areas. Your generosity helps provide essentials like shelter, gift cards, cleanup supplies, and household items that allow families to begin recovering.

GIVE

Donate now to help us support our neighbors quickly. In 2021, we learned that fast monetary support is the most flexible aid.
