Vicky’s husband, Ken Marshall, and daughter, Dr. Nicole Marshall, and dozens of generous donors created the Vicky Marshall Scholarship to ensure that her legacy would be remembered.

Vicky Marshall earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education at Western, then began a 37-year career as a much-loved teacher in the Bellingham School District. Vicky taught 4th grade, reading, Reading Recovery, Parenting Education, and served as School Librarian, serving most of the elementary schools in Bellingham. For 25 years, Vicky provided the Title 1 Reading services half-day at Assumption School.
Long very active in Friends of the Bellingham Public Library, Vicky also served a term on the Board of Trustees of the Library. Vicky served on the Session at St. James Presbyterian Church, and later on the Church Council at First Congregational Church Bellingham, where she was a Stephen Minister, and sang in the church choirs for a combined 45 years.
