Paying for college, technical school, beauty school or any post-secondary certification can be expensive and overwhelming; we get it!
Did you know there is a whole community of people in Whatcom County who want to see you succeed? Each year more than 100 local students benefit from scholarship funds held at the Whatcom Community Foundation, funds that are provided by families, businesses, and service organizations right here in Whatcom County that believe in your potential.
The Whatcom Community Foundation is working to keep its scholarship program flexible and accessible:
· Students can attend colleges across the country.
· Scholarships benefit a variety of students; both need-based and merit-based awards are offered.
· Awards range from $1,000 – $10,000.
· Scholarships are open to any graduating senior in Whatcom County.
Whatcom Community Foundation’s Scholarship Program has funded over $2 Million in scholarships to students over the last 20 years.
In 2024, we awarded 83 scholars with a total of $161,000 in scholarships.
While we do provide funding to help lessen the burden of tuition, we are by no means experts on college access.
Luckily, we know who is!
